Report: Lamborghini’s one-off Pregunta Concept from 1998 up for sale for $2.1m US

Feeling like impulsively spending a couple million dollars on a bespoke set of wheels? Well, here’s your chance as a one-off Lamborghini concept from the late 1990s is up for sale.

The concept is known as the 1998 Lamborghini Pregunta, which was supposedly the last concept built by the small hypercar manufacturer just before Audi purchased the brand. It rode on a Diablo chassis and then was shaped specifically with aerodynamics in mind, taking influence from aerospace engineering.

At the middle sat a 530hp V12, which Lamborghini claimed to have propelled the car to 207 MPH via all four wheels, versus the base Lamborghini Diablo’s rear-wheel drive setup.

The 1998 Lamborghini Pregunta was made to order for French Carrosserie—or coachwork builder—Heuliez and it debuted at the 1998 Paris Auto Show as well as the Geneva Auto Show in 1999. It featured a special paint job featured on the at the time French military’s Dassault Rafale jet fighter, unique fiber optic lighting, rear-view cameras and in-car sat-nav.

The one-off concept is being sold by AutoDrome, a French sales outlet specializing in vintage exotics. The price is a nice and lofty €1.6 million, or $2.1 million US. So you might want to reconsider refinancing the mortgage and selling some organs.
