Mass Fidelity Debuts with Relay Bluetooth Receiver

Lately, there have been a lot of companies coming up with ways to weave portable devices into the home audio mix. We know a lot of homeowners out there are even happier if the method for that music comes without all sorts of wires. After all, who wants cables messing with the look of that perfect home theater setup?

Bluetooth is really hot right now, since it's wireless and compatible with most smartphones, tablets and other portables. Canadian startup Mass Fidelity is the latest to jump into the Bluetooth pool, with its Relay wireless hi-fi receiver.

The Relay is actually Mass Fidelity's very first product -- and it aims to be a good one. This compact box can stream music from any Bluetooth-enabled device to any audio system.

There's no need to replace your receiver or any of your other AV components. Instead, you can tap into the wealth of music that's available via your portable, which includes stored music, as well as streaming services such as Pandora, Spotify, and much more.

According to Mass Fidelity, the Relay also boasts an audiophile-grade performance, via proprietary topography and firmware, as well as a Burr-Brown digital-to-audio converter (DAC).

"We at Mass Fidelity are music lovers who appreciate the freedom and choice afforded by smart devices and who also appreciate the involvement and emotion that only a high fidelity audio system can reveal," said Ben Webster, Mass Fidelity's founder. "We were determined to find a way of having it all -- convenience and fidelity. It is from this inspiration that the Relay was born. "

Mass Fidelity is selling the Relay wireless hi-fi receiver now, with an MSRP of $249.
