Word in the pipeline via AutomotiveNews in Europe is that Ferrari may be working to reduce its CO2 emissions significantly by 2021 with the use of a turbocharged V8 and a V12 hybrid.
After speaking with Ferrari’s powertrin director, Vittorio Dini, the plan involves reducing CO2 emissions by 20 percent while also limiting production to about 7,000 units per year. And much like the industry, a lot of new Ferrari models will be using downsized engines with forced induction.
Ferrari will be keeping their V12 however and will most likely be using technology from their flagship, the LaFerrari, which means the use of a F1-style KERS regeneration system.
