Microsoft Surface Laptop 2 Release Date, Price And Specs

The Surface Laptop has been quite a hit since its surprise release in May 2017. Microsoft is seeking to build on that success with the Surface Laptop 2.

Microsoft has, at last, announced the new Surface Laptop 2 along with several other surface products to complete the range. We've got all the latest information right here.

You can get a closer look at the Surface Laptop 2 in the video that Microsoft released just below.

When is the Surface Laptop 2 release date?
Preorders for the Surface Laptop 2 are available right now in selected areas either through Microsoft or on Amazon, with wider market availability coming in early 2019.

How much will the S.urface Laptop 2 cost?
The Surface Laptop 2 will start at £979 ($999) and run all the way up to £2,079 ($2,699) depending on your selected model.

The less expensive versions will feature 8th generation Intel i5 processors and 8GB of RAM, while the more expensive variants will see an 8th generation Intel i7 and 16GB of RAM - along with increased storage.

The specs in the higher-end Surface Laptops will have the power to rival high-end desktops so you will need to decide for yourself if you really need that much additional power in a portable laptop.

What specs will the Surface Laptop 2 have?
Microsoft is keen to never just launch additional products for the sake of it, so you're not going to see the old version of the Surface Laptop with the latest processor jammed in. You're getting something that is built coherently from the ground up which is not something we can say for all laptop manufacturers.
Much like the previous version of the Surface Laptop, the Surface Laptop 2 is built to be sleek, light and portable while retaining a tremendous amount of power.

The Surface Laptop 2 will feature a 13.5" PixelSense Display, 8th generation Intel processor and a Alcantara covered keyboard. Exactly which set of specs you'll be seeing in your laptop will, as ever, depend on how much you're willing to spend.

The more affordable versions of the Surface Laptop 2 will see an 8th generation i5, 8GB of RAM and between 128GB and 256GB of SSD storage space.

If you're planning on splashing out on one of the more substantial versions, you can expect an 8th generation i7, 16GB of RAM and up to 512 or 1TB of SSD storage space (although the 1TB is not available in the UK).

The laptop itself will have 1x full-size USB 3.0 connection, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a Mini DisplayPort and 1x Surface Connect port.

The screen will feature a 2256 x 1504 resolution at 201 PPI for a 3:2 aspect ratio, be able to handle 10 point multi-touch and be protected by Gorilla Glass 3 to ensure it's as sturdy as possible.

The 2020 Lincoln Aviator gives strong evidence that Ford’s luxury bona fides don’t start and end with the full-size Navigator.

Asus ZenBook 14 (UX433) Review

Asus has revamped the ZenBook line with a whole new design, including a lighter build, redesigned hinge, and a light-up numpad built right into the touch pad
Should I Buy The Asus ZenBook 14 UX433?
The ZenBook 14 is a very promising shakeup to the Asus laptop line. It’s smaller, lighter, and better looking than any of the previous models, without having to sacrifice either ports or powers. There aren't many laptops around that can offer you a 14in display in a body this compact while still giving you USB-A and HDMI ports, not to mention a Core i7 processor.
Unless you're an Excel addict you can probably safely ignore the glowing numpad - it's a fun gimmick, but most of us will probably forget it's even there, and without tactile feedback it's hardly a proper replacement for the keys. Still, this is a strong enough laptop elsewhere that it doesn't need that gimmick to get by, and there's plenty to recommend it otherwise.
