Felt - Forever Breathes the Lonely Word Music Album Reviews

Each Sunday, Pitchfork takes an in-depth look at a significant album from the past, and any record not in our archives is eligible. Today, we revisit the misanthropic pop perfection of the indie British band’s sixth and best album.
In November 1986, a writer for NME visited the flat of indie-pop enigma Lawrence. The mononymous musician lived in a quiet suburb outside of Birmingham, England, alone except for a collection of records, a set of first edition Kerouac paperbacks, and enough cleaning products to stock a small hospital ward. “A platoon of Airwick Solids stoically occupy strategic vantage points; the toilet bowl harbors not the usual one, but a breeding pair of those Cartland-pink santisers; a wicker basket provides a mass grave for spent aerosol air fresheners.” Since he rarely left the antiseptic apartment, Lawrence explained that his days were typically spent wasting time with mundane activities, like assiduously washing his floppy brown hair.

LG G8 ThinQ Release Date, Price & Spec Rumours

What to expect from LG's next flagship phone and when - here's everything we know about the LG G8 ThinQ launch date, specifications and anticipated price.

In previous years LG has always favoured the MWC tradeshow for its flagship phone launch, which is traditionally held in late February/early March. However, in 2018 the LG G7 ThinQ (pictured) was held back until May, and a general lack of whispers on the web suggests the same could be true in 2019.

Traditionally a true rival to Samsung's Galaxy S-series flagship, the gap has widened in recent years. But LG is still one of the best smartphone makers in the world, and we're excited to see what its 2019 G8 ThinQ has in store.

When Is The LG G8 ThinQ Release Date?
The G8 launch date has not been confirmed, but based on last year's pattern it could appear as late as May 2019.

ETNews suggests LG will announce a 5G phone at MWC in February, but that it won't be the LG G8 ThinQ - the company is reportedly still discussing branding.

The G8 is thought to be a 4G LTE-only handset, which ETNews says will arrive later in March 2019.

How Much Will The LG G8 ThinQ Cost?
With nothing to suggest otherwise, we suspect pricing will be in line with the outgoing flagship: expect the G8 to cost in the region of £600.

What Are The Rumoured Features And Specifications For The LG G8 ThinQ?
In common with other 2019 flagships the G8 will almost certainly carry the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor, which is the successor to the Snapdragon 845 seen in the G7.

This chip is significantly faster than the 845, and it also supports 5G connectivity. However, it's unlikely that the G8 will itself support 5G connectivity, since this will add to the overall cost. LG is expected to announce a different smartphone in early 2019 as its first 5G phone.

A feature recently tipped for the new LG phone is Sound On Display, which uses bone conduction and vibration to emit sound and would enable LG to lose the front speaker and free up more room for the screen. It's a technology Samsung is also reportedly working on, though it would appear LG could beat it to the punch. Without an earpiece we could see a new design that sees LG drop the screen notch.

The display could also be upgraded to feature a 4K resolution, according to Ice Universe, though this is another feature that adds cost without adding significant value. LG could keep down costs here by using LCD rather than AMOLED, which is a shame as we'd rather see a lower-resolution AMOLED screen.

It's also said to come with a triple-lens rear camera, though the exact specifications have not yet been detailed.

Should I Buy The Asus ZenFone 6?
The ZenFone 6 is a phenomenal smartphone, offering an innovative Flip Camera system that not only provides high-end front- and rear-facing cameras, but allows for a full-screen display free of hole-punch cameras or notches. Should I Buy The Samsung Q70R QLED 4K TV?

Huawei MateBook 14 Review

The MateBook 14 is one of Huawei's new laptops for 2019 and is the perfect all-rounder. Find out why in our full review.
Should I Buy The Huawei MateBook 14?
The MateBook 14 might be a slightly chunkier and heavier version of the flagship X Pro, but the weight is a small price to pay considering that this laptop is a much cheaper option.
What you lose (or gain, really) in weight, is made up for by additional ports, better performance and longer battery life. You only really need to pass on this if Thunderbolt is an absolute must.

Xiaomi M365 Electric Scooter Review

We test Xiaomi's electric scooter, which will keep the big kids entertained for hours. It's now officially available in the UK, too, which makes it even more appealing.
Should I Buy The Xiaomi Electric Scooter?
The Xiaomi Electric Scooter is expensive and not allowed on UK roads out the box, but if you have somewhere to take it this toy is an awful lot of fun. It's fast, smooth and almost entirely silent, with a battery that just keeps on going and decent brakes that stop you quickly but safely. This scooter is best reserved for the big kids, but that's no bad thing.
