Samsung Galaxy Buds Release Date And Specs Rumours

Samsung's new wireless earbuds are rumoured to come with various improvements. Read about the Galaxy Buds.

There are plenty of rumoured Samsung devices for an upcoming launch event, and you can add Galaxy Buds to the pile. Here’s what we know about the wireless headphones.

Headphones might not be as exciting as some of Samsung’s other gadgets but we’re still intrigued to find out about these. A new AirPods rival is always welcome. Check out the best wireless earbuds.

When Will The Galaxy Buds Launch?
Considering that Samsung has its big Unpacked event on 20 February in both London and San Francisco this is the most likely release date.

They won’t steal the show but could well be announced alongside the Galaxy S10 range and Samsung’s highly anticipated Galaxy X folding phone.

What Will The Galaxy Buds Specs Be?
We don’t know much about the Galaxy Buds just yet. Their existence is suggested by an FCC certification under the name on 29 January.

They have a model number of SM-R170(EARBUDS) and the listing describes them as a “Bluetooth Headset”. There’s not much else it gives away apart from a drawing showing the charging case the headphones will come with.

The Galaxy Buds will be the successor to the Gear IconX (shown at top of page) headphones we saw last year. Moving away from the ‘Gear’ branding follows on from Samsung’s smartwatch line.

Samsung’s Gear IconX headphones have on-board storage, fitness features, touch controls, Bixby and seven hours of battery life. We’d hope the firm can improve on this with the new pair.

Rumour has it that the Galaxy Buds will have 8GB of storage, Bluetooth 5.0, AKG tuning and longer battery life.
