Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 & Note 7 Pro Release Date, Price & Specs

The Redmi Note 7 is now joined by a Pro version. Gorgeous, all-glass budget phones with 48Mp cameras, the Note 7 line looks to offer an incredible deal.

In January Xiaomi announced the first device in its newly independent Redmi brand, the Redmi Note 7. A budget phone with a retail price of just 999 RMB (that's around £115), the Note 7 mixes the mid-range Snapdragon 660 processor with a high-capacity 4,000mAh battery and impressive 48Mp camera. It's also the first phone in the Chinese mainland to feature an 18-month warranty.

A Pro version of Redmi Note 7 was announced in India earlier this month and has now been made official in China on 18 March, alongside the cheaper Redmi 7.

As anticipated it has a 48Mp camera with a Sony IMX586 rather than Samsung GM1 sensor, 4GB/6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of storage, with a processor upgrade to the Snapdragon 675. It's otherwise largely identical to the standard model, with the same 4,000mAh battery and 6.3in display.

Only the 6GB RAM version got a mention during the Chinese launch, suggesting the 4GB RAM model is exclusive to India at INR 13,999 (£151/€180/US$198). In China you'll pay 1,599 yuan (£180/€210/$238) for the 6GB variant, which comes in Nebula Red, Neptune Blue and Space Black.

How To Buy Redmi Note 7
The standard Redmi Note 7 went on sale in China in January.

The 3GB RAM, 32GB storage Redmi Note 7 has a retail price of just 999 RMB, which is around £115.

Also available with 64GB of storage and either 4- or 6GB of RAM, these versions are priced at 1199 RMB (around £138) and 1399 RMB (around £162) respectively.

Though it has not been announced in the UK market just yet, expect to pay a little more over here. For example, the Redmi Note 6 is not officially available in the UK, but the Pro version currently costs £219 over at the Mi store.

We expect to be waiting for a month or two for the handset to officially launch in the UK, though in the meantime you will be able to import one from China. If you do so we recommend looking for a Global version.

Geekbuying is listing the 3GB Redmi Note 7 in black, blue and gold at £177.40/$225.99, while GearBest has the 4GB RAM model at £207.48/$259.99. It is still waiting for stock of the International model.

Redmi Note 7 Features & Specifications
A 'Note' device, the new Redmi phone packs a large 6.3in screen. This is an LTPS in-cell screen with 2.5D curved glass and a tough Gorilla Glass 5 outer layer. It has a tall 19.5:9 aspect ratio and 2340x1080 Full-HD+ resolution. The company claims the Redmi Note 7 offers 450cd/m2 brightness, and 1500:1 contrast.

The front of the device is largely all-glass, with incredibly slim 1.95mm bezels for a budget phone. There's also a waterdrop-style notch at the top of the screen in which the 13Mp selfie camera is housed.

Turn it over and you find the phone's USP: a 48Mp + 5Mp dual-lens AI camera with f/1.8 aperture. It's uses Samsung's ISOCELL Bright GM1 backside illuminated CMOS sensor, and Tetra cell tech that can merge four pixels into one large 1.6um pixel to increase light sensitivity.

The rear is also all glass, with a new Redmi logo at the bottom where normally you would expect to find a Mi logo - this is the first product announced by the company's newly separated Redmi brand, headed up by Lu Weibing, the former president of Gionee.

Inside the Redmi Note 7 is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor, which is paired with 3-, 4- or 6GB of RAM and 32- or 64GB of storage (you can also add a microSD card up to 256GB in capacity, though you must do so at the expense of using a second SIM). It runs at a 2.2GHz clock speed and integrates the Adreno 512 GPU, all running on a high-capacity 4,000mAh battery.

The new phone also supports Bluetooth 5.0, 802.11ac Wi-FI, GPS, USB-C and an increasingly rare IR blaster. At 159.2x75.2x8.1mm the Redmi Note 7 weighs 186g.

Microsoft No More Interested In Recommending Usage Of Internet Explorer

The Internet Explorer brand has been cracked down by software giant Microsoft about four years back while choosing Edge as its modern browser for Windows 10. The Internet Explorer has served for several years for Windows and for business compatibility but Microsoft is no more supporting it with the new web standards.

Squares Nail Art

Today's design is a very colourful and joyful one. I decided to paint little squares on all of my nails and I absolutely love it. It's a nice change from all the restrained autumn colours, don't you think? Let me know if you like it!
