His Name Is Alive - All the Mirrors In the House (Home Recordings 1979 - 1986) Music Album Reviews

Fueled by the curiosity of the untutored mind, Warren Defever’s collection of childhood recordings is wispy, mercurial, and improbably good.
In the 29 years that he has helmed the idiosyncratic project His Name Is Alive, Warren Defever has made many different kinds of music, few of them obvious kin to one another: lo-fi bedroom pop, ramshackle ambient, straight-up R&B, spiritual jazz, stoner metal, even a psychedelic rock opera. Recently, Defever came across a box of cassettes—many without covers or cases, the labels scrawled in ballpoint or Sharpie—that lay at the root of all of it: his own adolescent (and preteen) home recordings, from the years predating HNIA. Some went as far back as 1979, when the Livonia, Michigan, native was just 10 years old. He paid fellow Michigander Shelley Salant, of Saturday Looks Good to Me and Tyvek, to make digital transfers of their contents, and he asked her to flag anything that sounded “new agey, ambient, or had echoey guitars.” All the Mirrors …

Dying Light 2 Release Date, Trailer & Details

Dying Light 2 is due out next year, and promises to improve on the original parkour-tastic zombie shooter

Dying Light wasn’t top of the hype list going into E3 this year but with the announcement of Dying Light 2 people seem to be remembering just how much they loved the first time. Techland’s 2015 hit Dying Light combined a beautifully made, fluid parkour movement system with brutal melee combat and terror as you make decisions to fight or run from hordes of zombies, set in a city that is falling apart.

We’ve got all you need to know about Dying Light 2 right here, so look no further for the latest details.

When Will Dying Light 2 Be Released?
While there's no solid release date in place just yet, the E3 2019 trailer confirmed that Dying Light 2 is due to be released in Spring 2020 across PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Latest Dying Light 2 trailers
The trailer gives us some clues as to the setting of the next game.

15 years after the events of the first game, Dying Light 2 will feature a slightly different tone. Human society has settled down and fractured into factions, with their different goals and ideals about how this new world should be run.

The new story has been written with the assistance of Chris Avellone, a writer known for his RPG work, which allows the story to be far more ambitious than in the original Dying Light. The narrative in Dying Light 2 can be described as organic, as branching choices affect the world around you in very real ways.

We’ve had promises of this type of gameplay before from other developers and games, and no one has really cracked it just yet. Here is hoping that Techland can pull it off.

Despite there being no solid release date we do have some great looking beta gameplay. The parkour movement is much in show, and the organic choice system is displayed in an example over what path you choose to take with a water resource.

Graphically the game looks stunning. The environments are very dense and the draw distances are fantastic. The parkour mechanics look even more impressive than from the first game.

This was followed up by a new gameplay trailer at E3 2019, this time focused on the heightened sense of story present in the upcoming title.

Dying Light 2 is stacking up to be a great addition to the series with some substantial advancement over the first game. We can’t wait to get our hands on it.

Nokia 4.2 Review

At £150, Nokia's budget handset has to be compared to the very best cheap phones. How does it stack up?
Should I Buy The Nokia 4.2?
The 4.2 has shown that Nokia can still produce good hardware, and combined with the slick user interface on Android One it provides an enjoyable user experience. This fully featured modern handset produces consistently solid performance, with above average cameras and impressive battery life.
However, it is let down by a low resolution screen, poor implementation of biometrics and some stubborn design choices.

Should I buy the 15in MacBook Pro (2019)?
You’ll need to weigh up how much you need an incredibly powerful Mac laptop with concerns about the keyboard, but the new 9th generation 8-core processors should sweeten the deal.

Xbox Two release date rumours, design and more

Xbox Two release date rumours, design and more Microsoft’s Xbox One didn’t have the greatest launch – it was overpriced thanks to the ‘requirement’ of the Kinect (which has since been completely discontinued) and the requirement of an internet connection to function pushed many to Sony’s PS4. The console has improved substantially since launch, both in terms of features and pricing, and the introduction of the high-end Xbox One X has grabbed the interest of many.
